Daily I am reminded of the difficulty of keeping dedicated to the direction we have set as a leaders in business. You find so many people willing to give in to the common cry for the immediate and not focus on the long term.
Integrity is a tough term for people to come to grasp with. Integrity comprises the personal inner sense of "wholeness" deriving from honesty and consistent uprightness of character. The etymology of the word relates it to the Latin adjective integer (whole, complete) - WikiPedia.
True leaders once they set a direction have the difficult task of sticking with it - especially if that is what is best for the corporation long term. Following through on what you promised people is what counts in this world. I truly believe people respect and honor consistentcy in what you say and do and dis-respect those who cater to the immediate.
How have you been challenged by this notion of integrity?
